This month we convened at the newest location of Bleeding Heart Bakery. This location has a cafe – it’s huge! And busy. We had a big group this month – about 20 of us – and even though they don’t take reservations, the folks at the bakery were very accommodating – which we much appreciated.
We had a great time as usual, and had some special guests from the Girls Bike Club – part of the Youth Bike Program at West Town Bikes. Some of the girls and their advisors joined us our tasty brunch at the bakery.
After we had our fill of quite a few different menu options (vegetarian biscuits & gravy anyone?) everyone headed outside to our bikes where we always seem to end up spending extra time chatting, looking at bikes, exchanging email addresses, and of course, taking pictures.
The Girls Bike Club is working on getting their website going and planning a few activities over the next year to encourage girls to bike and maintain their own bikes and to raise funds for their programs. I’ll be sure to post their events on my calendar.
The next Women’s Bike Brunch should be on Sunday December 4th – send Dottie an email – LGRAB [at] letsgorideabike.com- if you’re not on the mailing list as she always sends out the details . She also posted about this month’s brunch and took some really lovely photos – check them out!
